So, we finally opened the doors to Health House this week! We worked our ass off the weeks leading up to it. Of course, it’s always a scramble at the end to get everything into place. We are still working out the kinks (some issues with our sound system and waiting on furniture for the front area) but other than that, I can’t be happier with the end result. The studio is beautiful! We still have one week of free classes to try out the new space, click on our website above to sign up!
As luck would have it, I got very sick this week. I had the worst stomach pain; so bad I was curled up in a ball and could barely walk by Wednesday afternoon. I took myself to the hospital, I knew something wasn’t right!… Continue Reading
I hope everyone had a great long weekend! I feel like we relished every moment of it; really spending quality time as a family. We had nothing major planned, so we just kind of winged it! We spent most of the weekend hitting up different spots around Kansas City, some old and some new…
Friday afternoon Amy and I got invited by Hoopla to come and try out their new fall colors. They will be announcing them soon, and you will love them! For those of you who aren’t familiar, Hoopla makes their own custom nail polish colors, all free the the bad stuff, and in the prettiest color palettes. The fall line is gorgeous!
The weekend was all about Jon, as we celebrated his 37th Birthday. Friday afternoon his parents took us to lunch at Capital Grille. With J. being in school, V got to join the adults…and of course she loved every minute of it
We celebrated Friday night with a dinner at Jax; we were welcomed by this enormous J.Hilburn truck. They were on hand doing custom menswear fittings for anyone who was interested! It was very cool, and pretty genius marketing in my opinion!
The vodka lemon press is SO good…always a must when we go there
Saturday night our friends helped us celebrate Jon’s birthday. It was definitely a night to remember!
Dinner at Ragazza was INSANELY good…I have not had one bad meal there
We had two (very hot) soccer games to start out the fall season. V. got suited up for the first time, and it was hilarious…she was super excited to play.… Continue Reading
Tomorrow we start SCHOOL!!! I actually thought the summer went by really fast…until the last 10 days. I was ready to pull my hair out today and lock myself into my room. I think they just get to a point when they are bored and are ready for some sort of a routine again. We all need a break from one another!
We spent the last weekend of summer break doing some fun things together As a family. We took the kids downtown on the streetcar to Quay for coffee. It’s delicious and worth the trip if you have time. Then we rode back not the street car and walked around the Crossroads while dad got a haircut, and had lunch at YJ’s Snack Bar, which is the best little hole in the wall (128 w. 18th St.)
Each day YJ’s has a lunch special. It was Fajita’s on Thursday, which Jon got.… Continue Reading
I can’t believe it is August already! This summer has gone by so fast. Sorry for the lack of blogging and content; it’s hard to keep up during the summer. The last few weeks have been busy with travel. We are prepping for another trip this weekend for a wedding up North.
Our week in California was amazing. We packed a lot into 7 days; and it was fun overload for the kids. We always love visiting our best friends who live there; the kids get along great which makes it so easy for everyone to be together.
Our friends recently moved to Palos Verdes which is about 45 minutes from LAX. It’s a beautiful, quiet town that sits up on the cliffs overlooking the water. I love that they get both the beach and cliff landscapes.
We hiked one day down the cliffs to an untouched area called “seaglass beach”.… Continue Reading
