I am still recovering from the long weekend with my girlfriends. I took a 5:50AM flight home yesterday, which left me in a fog the past two days. We had an absolute blast! It was the perfect mix of going out/relaxation/bonding time.
I got in early Thursday, so my friend Jayme and I spent an afternoon in the city. We had lunch at Fig & Olive (one of my faves!) and then we headed to Barney’s to do some fragrance shopping. I have been dying to try Byredo, which is only sold there. We both fell in love with the same 2 (Mojave Ghost and the Oliver Peoples for Byredo scent), but we could not decide which one was the winner. We even resorted to asking about 6 different people on the street which scent they liked best. ha! They are expensive and we couldn’t decide, so we left empty handed.… Continue Reading
It’s hard to believe it’s Tuesday already! The holiday weekend went by so fast. We left Thursday to visit my husband’s sister and family in St.Louis.
We did the Zoo on Friday, which the kids loved. It’s a great zoo, and it is free! You end up spending on things like petting stingrays, the train, etc. But, it’s worth it; the kids had a blast!
Saturday it rained all day, we did some shopping and then later that night just the adults went to Scape in the Cental West End. It’s a very cute part of St.Louis that I had never been to. Scapegoat, the bar connected to the restaurant is fun, with a great cocktail menu.
Scape, the restaurant has an incredible outdoor area, that we wish we could have enjoyed. But with the rain all day it was shut down for the evening.
the entire back wall of the patio was covered in this amazing Ivy!… Continue Reading
When I was younger, I had a longterm boyfriend who compared me to others constantly, and take jabs at me that made me feel inadequate. This led to many years of my teens and early twenties comparing myself to others. It’s a brutal cycle that leads nowhere except body shaming and terrible self image. When I got out of that relationship and met my husband I was not so happy on the inside.
My husband is the kindest, most genuine person you will ever meet. He makes you feel like a million bucks, and when he says something he means it. It took me a while to get used to him complimenting other women so often. But it is one of the things that I love most about him! For the first time in my life I had someone building me back up to a place where I felt good about myself again.… Continue Reading
Some parents may disagree with me, but I feel like the summer is flying by already! We have had a great few weeks so far. A lot of time has been spent at the pool and the park. I have our babysitter a few days a week to help us out too which has been awesome. It allows me to get some work done, child free which has relieved a lot of stress.
It was a blazing hot weekend in KC, but we made the most of it! Friday night we went to dinner with friends at Ragazza, popped into CaVa for a drink on their patio and ended the night with a cocktail and chocolate cake at Capital Grille.
Saturday we went to The Corner Restaurant for the first time. I can’t believe I had never been, we had so many people recommend it over the years. I guess now that it’s so close to us, it makes it easier to get to.… Continue Reading
It was a pretty chill weekend here in KC; we spent most of our time at the pool! We are back at woodside for the summer; I am loving their new Earth Bar and food menu!
Friday night we went with our Health House team to Port Fonda. We started at Julep for a drink. I am loving the “London Calling” for summer which was a light, refreshing vodka drink with cucumber, ginger and lime.
We had a great time at Port Fonda, but we were missing a few of our coaches!
I popped into Coveted Home on Saturday, and they have some really cute Father’s Day gift ideas
LOVE this vintage bar cart…
Sunday was a super relaxing day, my kids slept in until 9:00! And so did I! A rare treat, that was pretty awesome.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
