You have to love a long weekend, we are almost halfway through the week already!
We had so much fun with my parents back in town. They are driving North for the summer, so they stopped through KC to spend the weekend with us. We had a great time, with very little planned, which ended up being a blast. The previous weekend was so hectic, it was nice to not have an agenda for a few days.
We took the kids to Melting Pot Friday night with my in laws and parents. I am not a huge fan, but we thought it would be fun for the kids. They did love it; and somehow sat through a 3 hour dinner.
We celebrated our 1st grader moving on to 2nd grade! He’s getting SO big, I can’t even take it!
We did some shopping on the Plaza…
The weekend just breezed by; too quick in my opinion! It was a gorgeous weekend in KC ! My parents came into town this weekend, which was so much fun and SO helpful. It was kind of a crazy weekend juggling work and kids activities; and I am so thankful that they were able to help us out.
Friday we went to lunch at Bella Napoli in Brookside. I was excited to finally try it for lunch, since we had just been to dinner there. We had the Bresaola to start which was just shaved parm and salad with olive oil and lemon over dried prosciutto. It was delicious. I really splurged and tried their mushroom calzone, which was a recommendation from a friend. It was great, and you can just tell by the flavors and quality of the food that it is all handmade.
I promise I haven’t abandoned my blog! It’s just been an overwhelming past two weeks. By the end of the day, I just want to crash (and not touch my computer). I am hoping things slow down a bit, so I can get back to writing!
This past weekend was my Style Scout Market event; it’s hard to believe I have been doing these events for over 2 years now. We had such an amazing group of vendors this time around. I really adore all of these women and their talents. Thank you to all of you who came out to support them.
We had a laid back weekend, which was really nice. Coming off of a week of travel, it was nice to have some time at home to catch up on work, laundry, cleaning, etc.
Saturday I went down to Blue Mercury on the plaza for their Spring Nars event. Sally, who is a freelance artist with Nars did my look. I mainly wanted a good daytime eye that I could also mix with deeper colors for an evening look. I also was looking for a great spring lip. Nars; which has always been a favorite of mine never disappoints!
If you follow me on Snapchat you have already seen the pics…this was how I documented what the artist did. This is the before…eek! no makeup is scary!
here is an everyday look…super light eye with just a black liquid liner and mascara. I felt like this was just too pale for me, so I had her add a different color on the lid.… Continue Reading
Well, I survived a week of a stay at home Spring Break. I was extremely thankful to be feeling better, and to be able to get out and about with the kids this week. We filled the days with activities, and I was exhausted by Friday! My kids went to the zoo with friends on Monday, which was so nice because I STILL had a fever.
But by Tuesday I was feeling much better so we did Valley Park (an awesome ropes park in Grandview that’s free!). They have two climbing structures (one large, one smaller for the little ones), a zip line, two slides, swings, and plenty of picnic tables and grass to sit on. It’s an awesome park, probably my favorite one in the city.
Wednesday we had various appointments (dentist/hair cuts) and Thursday was St. Patricks day and the start of the NCAA Mens tournament. In the morning we walked around the plaza to see the Bunny’s that only come out this time of the year.… Continue Reading
