I did it. I survived 10 days here in KC with both my kids, during a pretty brutally cold Spring Break.
Some of you may or may not have seen my insta story last week, but I decided to take the iPads away from my kids. They were becoming SO dependent on them, and truthfully I was a little bit too. Since I work from home, I would allow them to be on their ipads while I worked or if I was trying to get stuff done around the house. It wasn’t good. My kids started acting nasty when I made them put them away. My son was acting really awful. Like, really angry if he wasn’t able to play on it. I finally got so tired of their behavior I decided to take them away all together! It was the best decision I have made.
I did let them use it for about a total of 3 hours the entire break.… Continue Reading
Easter dresses are my favorite. Not the real poofy frilly ones, but the kind that remind me of my favorite classic children’s books and fairytales.
When I saw this dress at The Little House, something about it reminded me of the little girl who played Cinderella in the 2015 movie.
It’s so feminine and pretty; with a delicate pattern of bunnies and flowers. The ruffle and grosgrain bow make perfect details. It’s not overly poofy, but definitely twirl worthy 🙂

We have had amazing luck with finding great dresses this year. I find the ones that aren’t too fussy get worn on repeat. This one is a current fave because of how cozy it is!
This darling dress by Jean Bourget from The Little House is super soft and plush on the top and a cotton/poly blend on the bottom. This dress is also machine washable, which is always a plus.
This will be a great dress for Thanksgiving, holiday activities and her program at school . We paired it with coordinating tights that have tiny bows on the back and some inexpensive glitter mary janes that I can’t seem to get her to part with 🙂

In our household we love dresses for two reasons…1, there are no arguments when a dress is involved and 2. It’s “one” item of clothing, which means less wash for me and less coordinating of pieces.
The Little House has the best selection of dresses both casual and dressy. We recently discovered a line they carry called Lali which is from a designer based in St.Louis. She uses gorgeous fabrics from her native India, and they all have beautiful colors and patters with great details. You can read more of the designers history and inspiration HERE.
We paired this great dress back to the new “Alice in Wonderland” edition Mini Melissa shoes, also from The Little House
I love this take on a denim dress by Deux Par Deux; it has just the right amount of structure to make it cute and feminine. Again, it looks great with those red Mary Janes by Mini Melissa.… Continue Reading
If you could bottle up “happiness” and turn it into a brand, you would get Hazel & Ollie. This is the newest and completely adorable endeavor by Emily Walters; who is also the talent behind the popular Bloom Academy.

Hazel & Ollie is custom made goods for children (and adults!) ranging from clothing, to accessories and home decor. I love Emily’s use of color, all of the little details she adds to each piece, and the fact that they are all handmade is a huge plus. Her pieces make great gifts, because they are one of a kind!
My little ones and I recently did a photo shoot for Hazel & Ollie and we had a BLAST.
