Play clothes are the hardest thing to shop for. If your kids are like mine they are super picky about comfort. On the other hand, I also want them to look cute. It’s hard to find the balance!
Tea collection is one brand that combines comfort and quality and the cute factor. We have had great luck with this brand, and continue to buy a few pieces each season at The Little House in Fairway, who has a fabulous selection of the line.
These pieces are from their newest collection, a mix of blues, grey, black and white and red. It is a nice transitional collection that mixes well with just about anything.
We met up with our friend Sutton at one of our favorite spots in Kansas City, Kauffman Gardens.

We are obsessed with kids books in our house! I am always looking for something new to read to the kids, since I have read most of our books a million times. I stumbled upon the Lately Lily book and toys at The Little House and fell in love! Since both my husband and I love to travel, and we have tried to expose our kids to the same I found this book to be the perfect addition to our home library.
Lily is a traveling girl; the daughter of a photographer and writer for the world’s greatest magazine. Lily has been living out of her sunny yellow suitcase her entire life! With a notebook in hand, Lily carefully records all of her observations from her travels so her friends can follow what she’s been up to, lately.
The illustrations are adorable and the stories are fantastic. How lovely to see all the delights of the world and travel through a child’s eyes.… Continue Reading
Tis the season for holiday parties, holiday programs at school and different events where kids just can’t be wearing their favorite sweat pants or jeans. I have to say, I love getting the kids dressed up for a special occasion…and (fingers crossed) they haven’t thrown a fit about it yet!
Instead of a traditional boys look of khaki pants and a sweater, we decided to go bold with these plaid pants! I paired them with a subtle gingham shirt and red half zip sweater and Sperry’s all from The Little House.
for Vivi we opted for an un-conventional color; cobalt blue. It’s a gorgeous color on, and the velvet is super soft. I am also a sucker for anything with a sweet peter pan collar!

One of my favorite parts about Christmas is the Nutcracker. I have been going to see this ballet for years; from the time I was itty-bitty up until now. I can’t wait to take Vivi; as she already loves to dance. I am sure she will be as in awe as I was!
I think this dress would be adorable for her first time seeing the Nutcracker…and then for Christmas festivities. It has a touch of sparkle, and just the right amount of twirl…perfect for a Ballerina in training!
Generally in Kansas City we have a pretty amazing fall. We usually get a mild October, and sometimes even November before we have to bust out the heavy outwear. I have found that Vests are the perfect transitional piece for everyone in our family; not to mention the kids actually like wearing them!
Vivi’s entire outfit is by Peas and Queues…a new line I found at The Little House in Fairway. I am obsessed, the quality and details are amazing. From the lining of the vest, to the double layer skirt (it’s green underneath) and bows on the leggings. It’s so nice to find a line that is unique and fun without being to frou-frou. (shoes by Mimi and Milo also from The Little House)
Julian is getting to the age where “cute” doesn’t cut it…he wants big boy clothes. We love the line Appaman who makes this great plaid flannel shirt; I am digging the patches on the elbows which give it some edge!… Continue Reading
