I haven’t done a favorite product post in a while! It is long overdue! Here are some great items as we head into winter…
La Bruket Toner: My husband picked this up for me at George for Mother’s Day and it is one of my favorite products. I spray it on in the morning right after I wash my face. It has extract from chamomile and witch hazel which completes the deep cleaning process, while balancing your skin in preparation for nourishing and moisturizing treatments. This toner can also be used as a refreshing supplement after sun exposure, airplane travel, or as a cleaning and easing after shave. Extracts of chamomile helps to stimulate and smooth skin, while the bergamot provides antiseptic and healing qualities. Witch hazel is astringent and antiseptic. It is an all natural product which is a plus!
I have been shopping at Hall’s for many years, and one of my favorite parts of the store is their cosmetics department. I have written about Janet and Madeleine before. They have been with Chanel and Hall’s for over 15 years! Madeleine has been with Chanel cosmetics for over 20. These ladies know their stuff!
They did my wedding makeup 12 years ago, and I have been shopping with them ever since. I just adore them.
I needed a refresh on my fall colors, so I made an appointment with Madeleine to give me an overhaul. I wanted a look that could go from daytime to evening. I needed a new foundation, something not too heavy but something that gives just enough coverage especially for when I am doing on-air work or photo shoots. And, I love their lip colors; they are my favorite. So that was on my wish list too!… Continue Reading
It’s no secret I love Nail Polish (if you could see my collection at home you would die) I especially love the colors from Hoopla studio; this Kansas City based company makes their own custom colors that you can buy or use when you get a service their 2 studio locations in KC. They are free of all the nasty stuff, which also makes you feel better about using their colors.
I met up with Amy for a mani/pedi session at Hoopla in Fairway to get a first hand look at their new fall color collection, and I am obsessed!
I did “mamacita” on my toes, which is this gorgeous plum shade with a hint of grey. It’s a nice, darker neutral shade for fall
Amy did Mojo on her nails. This color is gorgeous! It’s a gold with shimmer; amazing and perfect going into holiday…
I was not blessed with long, full eyelashes. So, I have been wanting to try eyelash extensions after seeing them on my girlfriends who live in Chicago. I was excited to learn that Hoopla Studio ( my favorite place for nails) also does aesthetics; lash extensions being one of their services.
I decided to go with a partial set for the first time to see if I would like it. It took just an hour and it was easy and pain free. The hardest part was sitting still for an hour, with my eyes closed! I worked with Kim at their Leawood location, and she was fantastic.
Here is a before pic:
and the after!
I am going on week 2 with the lashes, and I absolutely love them. I think they are really natural looking, which is what I was going for. Without friends/relatives knowing, I have gotten compliments and questions on what mascara I am using!… Continue Reading
I splurge on products and cosmetics, but the one thing I don’t do enough of is facials. I forgot how wonderful they make your skin look and feel. It is a refresh your skin needs multiple times a year to keep it hydrated and looking youthful.
I recently had a facial and a few other treatments done at Radiance: Beautiful Skin (located at College/Roe) in Leawood. Tara; the owner and aesthetician was referred to by a friend and I was anxious to meet her and check it out! The entire experience was wonderful. The room was relaxing and warm, and she talked me through each treatment we were doing as well as the benefits.
If you aren’t familiar, a hydrafacial is a resurfacing procedure that provides cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, and hydration, including Vortex-Fusion® of antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid. It’s not painful, and it just feels like a rough brush sort of moving over your skin.… Continue Reading
