Hair Diaries

Posted on December 10th, by Melanie

I am feeling in a major rut with my hair lately. I have been trying to grow my bangs out forever, but they always seem to look the same length and the overall length of my hair just doesn’t seem to be growing either. I am feeling need for a change.

I could continue to try to go my bangs and go for more of this type of look…long bob, long bangs

or, I could keep growing my hair and cut blunt front bangs…Reese and Nicole both do an amazing front bang!

Here I am at my 10 year HS reunion (2005)…I loved front bangs they are just a lot of maintenance

and then there is the option of going short again…c056e3a3df101371589cfaad7f5326c7

but I might wait until Summer to pull the trigger on this look. I did it 3 summers ago and loved it; felt so good to chop it off!… Continue Reading

Celebration.

Posted on September 5th, by Melanie

Hey everyone! Did everyone have a great Labor Day weekend?  We made it to Arkansas and back all in one piece. We laughed, we danced, we ate wayyyyy too much. And most of all we loved celebrating my cousin Ali and her new husband Ben.

This chapel in Arkansas is completely breathtaking, the pictures just don’t do it justice!

it was so tranquil and serene set in the middle of this wooded area. I loved the peacefulness and intimacy of the entire wedding

And before the wedding, we had my brother and his girlfriend in from NYC . It was so fun to have them here in Kansas City. The kid are OBSESSED with their uncle, and Inga could not have been sweeter. Needless to say the kids were in heaven with all the extra attention and gifts and treats galore…

They brought us some amazing goodies from the city that I must share with you…

First off we indulged in a  whole array of treats from Momofuku Milk Bar.Continue Reading

Cheap and Chic: Bargain buys under $35

Posted on August 17th, by Melanie

Hopefully you are enjoying your weekend so far! It’s GORGEOUS here in Kansas City. Low 70’s and sunny; absolute perfection.

I am excited for dinner tonight with my girl Lindsay! We will also be doing a little photo shoot…I am sure we will have plenty of laughs doing it. Sometimes it’s just hard to take yourself seriously 🙂

So I am obsessing over this new nailpolish. The brand is Sinful Colors, color is Thimbleberry and you can find it at Target. The shade is a perfect watermelon. Somewhere in between coral and red. I love it and it was under $3!!!

I bought this blouse that I had seen featured on J’s Everday fashion. I had seen it online and wasn’t sure…but once I saw it on her I knew I had to have it! You guys, it’s an exact J.Crew knock off for only $17! It’s longer in length and would look awesome with some faux leather pants or colored denim.… Continue Reading

Thoughts for Thursday

Posted on August 8th, by Melanie

Happy Thursday! I am gearing up for the weekend already how about you? I am actually traveling to St.Louis to do 3 closet consults/styling this weekend. It will be busy but fun and I am looking forward to re-connecting with an hold High School friend while I am there.

Last night I had a girls dinner at Port Fonda (quickly becoming a favorite) with some of my closest friends. Mollie was in from Chicago and we always love catching up with her when she is back in Kansas City. We laughed SO hard. Aren’t girls nights just the best? So good for the soul! We took about 20 photos and this one is priceless…gotta love a good photobomb
