I am soooooooo excited to write this post! I have been waiting two weeks to do so, and now I can let the cat out of the bag.
So, for the past 10 days I have been experimenting with a new workout. It’s called “The Hook” which was developed by Courtney Benavides who is the face, the knowledge and strength behind Momma Strong. Courtney is a former ballerina turned personal trainer and corrective excercise specialist with over 12 years of experience. One thing I love about her (besides her self-deprecating, sometimes sarcastic and quite hilarious personality) is that she is also a mom. She can relate. She dealt with many problems during and after her pregnancy and she knows how to train a woman’s body. She is inspiring. She pushes you. She makes it fun (even when you are cursing her name from your computer)
I personally have been struggling to workout for the past few months.… Continue Reading
Just a few things that have been on my “favorites” list this past week…
My husband was so kind to pick up a top at Lululemon for me, but the size and color didn’t work. I am in need of pants so I decided to get these instead. I wasn’t quite sure about all the color at first but I am really loving them. My next purchase will be a fun jacket to match (I guess I better start saving). Their jackets are my obsession!
Nail polish is my vice. I recently picked this one up at my hair salon of all places. It’s called Mojito Madness and I am in love with this shade of green. I just found out it’s from last year’s Summer collection. Thankfully, it’s still available in some places! If you want to make it yours, I suggest buying it ASAP HERE.
We have a wedding in less than a month in Houston.… Continue Reading
I am sure you are hoping for a juicy post about bloggers throwing a few back, but this is not about a drinking bar…it’s all about the Ballet Barre…
For those of you who have read my blog for the past year, you know I am a devoted fan of the Bar Method. I started going over a year ago and continued taking classes throughout my entire pregnancy. I felt amazing through the entire 9 months, had minimal weight gain and really bounced back quickly…I owe it all to the Bar Method classes.
SO, I thought it would be fun to bring some blogger girls together to take a class. We bonded over 60 minutes of intense interval training. For first timers, it’s always an interesting experience. It’s hard to get used to the “shake” that happens during a Bar Method class…but like our instructor Hoddy says, “If you don’t shake, you aren’t pushing yourself hard enough!”…
At 5 weeks post partum, I am back in my regular clothes with only 3 pounds to go. I am shocked, honestly…this is not normal, right? With my son it took me a very long time to get my body back. With my first pregnancy I gained almost 40 pounds and it probably took a year to feel normal again.
Getting back into my skinny jeans is no miracle; I have to give credit where credit is due. The Bar Method is THE miracle worker. I started taking the classes before I got pregnant and then 3-4 days a week throughout my entire pregnancy. I even happened to take class the day before I went into labor!… Continue Reading
