I did it. I survived 10 days here in KC with both my kids, during a pretty brutally cold Spring Break.
Some of you may or may not have seen my insta story last week, but I decided to take the iPads away from my kids. They were becoming SO dependent on them, and truthfully I was a little bit too. Since I work from home, I would allow them to be on their ipads while I worked or if I was trying to get stuff done around the house. It wasn’t good. My kids started acting nasty when I made them put them away. My son was acting really awful. Like, really angry if he wasn’t able to play on it. I finally got so tired of their behavior I decided to take them away all together! It was the best decision I have made.
I did let them use it for about a total of 3 hours the entire break.… Continue Reading
Good, casual jackets are so hard to find! I love them because they are so easy to throw on over a tank with jeans, or even a dress. They are the outfit “completer”, that can take a simple outfit to something a little more interesting.
This lightweight jacket from Scoobie is under $75 and it is a great spring layering piece. It drapes really pretty, and hangs a little lower in the back, and I love the colors in the embroidery. I really think it could be worn into early fall as well, which makes it so versatile!
I am wearing a small for reference. You can email sarah@shopscoobie to order

We can all relate to the first time shopping post baby. Almost 9 years later, and I still remember it vividly.
I still looked pregnant, and I believe someone at the store asked me when I was “due”?! My body was a mess, I was exhausted and I just wanted to find something cute to wear, because the thought of putting maternity clothes back on was just depressing. I remember settling for something that was just “ok” because it worked.
Throw a baby into the mix, and that’s a whole other ballgame! I remember the first time trying to figure out my stupid stroller, and hauling it in and out of my car. The amount of diaper changes, and full body sweats as you try to nurse your baby in a fitting room. It’s just not a pleasant experience.
Dress for Success is one of my favorite charities that is changing the live of countless women in the US. This charity is helping women gain economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. For more information on this great organization, click HERE.
I had the opportunity to go on KCTV 5 last week to talk a bit about the charity and their recent partnership with Talbots and Oprah Magazine.
The Oprah Magazine collection for Talbots will benefit Dress for Success; by giving back 30% of the profits to the organization. This partnership helped over 20,000 women in 2016!
There are many ways you can give to dress for success; you can purchase from this exclusive line for Talbots, you can make a monetary donation online HERE, or you can find your local Dress for Success to make a clothing donation!… Continue Reading
I got my first pair of Koral activewear leggings about a year ago. I knew that they would work double duty, because they could be styled both for working out in, but also layered with a cute sweater and leather jacket for the weekend. Here I paired it with my new N: Philanthropy sweatshirt I got in Los Angeles. I have been LIVING in this thing; it was well worth the money spent. I love the raw edges and cutouts at the neck.
The pants are super lightweight, and just hug your body. Because of the sheen you may think they are super hot when you workout, but they actually aren’t. They recently came out with a the lustrous legging in a high rise which I love even more. I just got this slate color which is perfect to transition into spring.
