Scout + Scoobie: Holiday Style

Posted on December 15th, by Melanie

Trying to dress for holiday parties when it is 20 degrees out is brutal. Finding that perfect mix of cozy/cute/sexy is next to impossible! That was until I found this dress at Scoobie. It is a sweater dress…shorter in front, longer in back and not super fitted which makes the short length a little easier to wear. It is also under $85, which is a steal for a sweater dress. You could cozy it up with tights and a bootie, or make it a little sexier with a bare leg like I did here. This would make for a great Christmas or even New Year’s Eve outfit!

Scout Fit: Lululemon Studio to Street Style

Posted on December 12th, by Melanie

Workout clothing is not just for working out these days. We need our activewear to be functional and multi purpose. I know you call can relate to working out and then rushing to either an appointment, grocery store or to your kids school. We have to figure out ways to make these pieces of clothing work double duty!

photos taken by Ruthie Stark on location at Health House and T.Loft

A priority for me when buying activewear is good pants; and nobody does it better than Lululemon. They recently came out with a fabric called Nulux; it is a quick drying sweat wicking fabric that is SO lightweight you feel like you are barely wearing anything. These are GREAT for cardio. The dazzle print nulux pant is amazing, it gives you the look of a light colored pant but with a flattering pattern and cut. I am loving the high waist too…

Gift Guide: Fitness Fanatic

Posted on December 8th, by Melanie

Fitness clothing and gear just keeps getting better each year. Carbon 38 an Six:02 are two fairly new stores that bring high fashion and functionality to workout wear.

This gift guide is for the fit girl; the one who wants to stay cutting edge from the yoga studio to the street. Loving the metallic details on shoes, bomber jacket styles, and intricate details on both pants and tops this season. And as always, a great water bottle and cool mat are a must!

I am sorry for the late start on my gift guides…the new puppy is really putting a wrench into my work schedule! It’s impossible to get anything done during the day, so I am playing catchup at night!

My first guide is a request from a reader! If you are like me, you have been invited to a Favorite Things Party. I know these parties stump people; especially when their is a price point involved.
