It’s Sunday and we are pretty much homebound for the day. Kansas City was hit with a few inches of snow and bitter cold temps. This is definitely the worst start to a winter we have had since I moved here 8 years ago! It has been a great excuse to hunker down, clean, do laundry and get organized before my family arrives next week.
We had a great weekend! Friday night we hosted our Health House team for a Christmas happy hour. We kept it very simple with light appetizers, and then we catered in Jack Stack. I forgot to take pics; too busy chatting and playing hostess. I did get one pre party. I wore this J.Crew buffalo check top, which is perfect for the holidays
We took the kids to the Nutcracker on Saturday night. I have been going to the Nutcracker since I was 4, and have seen it in many cities across the US.… Continue Reading
I don’t think I have loved a coat more. This fur from Alysa Rene Boutique has a gorgeous mix of neutral colors, the length is perfect and it is warm as can be.
I styled it a little more casual here, but you can totally dress this up for the holidays by throwing it over a cocktail dress or skirt and blouse combo.

Ladies, if your husband needs a hint for you this Christmas here is a round up of my personal faves. You can never go wrong with a new fragrance, or some fun earrings. Tech accessories, Sunnies and Fun tennis shoes are a fun, easy and inexpensive gift. And let’s just talk about the Chloe bag 🙂 this color is perfect!
Trying to dress for holiday parties when it is 20 degrees out is brutal. Finding that perfect mix of cozy/cute/sexy is next to impossible! That was until I found this dress at Scoobie. It is a sweater dress…shorter in front, longer in back and not super fitted which makes the short length a little easier to wear. It is also under $85, which is a steal for a sweater dress. You could cozy it up with tights and a bootie, or make it a little sexier with a bare leg like I did here. This would make for a great Christmas or even New Year’s Eve outfit!
Scoobie is having a buy one get one for one day only starting tomorrow at both their KC Garment and Trendz locations.… Continue Reading
Workout clothing is not just for working out these days. We need our activewear to be functional and multi purpose. I know you call can relate to working out and then rushing to either an appointment, grocery store or to your kids school. We have to figure out ways to make these pieces of clothing work double duty!
A priority for me when buying activewear is good pants; and nobody does it better than Lululemon. They recently came out with a fabric called Nulux; it is a quick drying sweat wicking fabric that is SO lightweight you feel like you are barely wearing anything. These are GREAT for cardio. The dazzle print nulux pant is amazing, it gives you the look of a light colored pant but with a flattering pattern and cut. I am loving the high waist too…
Well, we survived the weekend…barely. V came down with a stomach bug Thursday night; probably the worst I have seen in either of my kids. She was up every 30 minutes getting sick. I felt SO bad for her. Friday was brutal, Saturday she wasn’t throwing up or diarrhea anymore but just very tired. It wasn’t until today that she finally was back to her normal self. Now our son is not feeling well…I have a feeling we have a long night ahead of us!
We missed out on a good friends 40th Friday, which was a complete bummer. But, were able to sneak away for a few hours on Saturday to see go to Lawrence and see a KU basketball game. It was a much needed break after a few long days. Lawrence is darling, and the KU game was incredible! Thanks to our friends for bringing us to the game!… Continue Reading
This gift guide is for the fit girl; the one who wants to stay cutting edge from the yoga studio to the street. Loving the metallic details on shoes, bomber jacket styles, and intricate details on both pants and tops this season. And as always, a great water bottle and cool mat are a must!
