Our flight from NYC landed at 4:00 Christmas eve! We raced home, changed quickly and head to dinner with my family and my in-laws. We went to Stockhill for dinner, and it was great. I think at that point I was so tired, and full from all the eating and drinking that I just kind of wanted to sleep…but we powered through the night for the kids. I still had gifts to wrap and Santa gifts to setup! Again, thankful for my parents and brother for helping out!
Alfie had fun on his first Christmas 🙂

Happy New Year everyone! I feel so behind on posting; it’s been a whirlwind holiday break! It’s impossible to get anything done when you have guests in town for a week…and with the holidays. So, I figured I will start back before Christmas and share some highlights of our trip to New York.
The trip was a surprise from my husband. My brother and Mom got into town early the week of Christmas and obviously they were in on the secret. We went to dinner on Wednesday night and he orders a bottle of champagne, makes a toast and tells me to pack a bag because we are leaving at 6AM for 2 days in NYC! It is hard to get anything past me; and so for him to pull of this sort of surprise was pretty amazing. I had not been to NY in 8 years; so I was very excited to get back and experience it at Christmas time.… Continue Reading
Kendra Scott’s fine jewelry launched this month, and I could not be more excited. I have been a Kendra fan for many years, and I love seeing how her line has evolved. The new 14K Gold and Pave diamond”iconic collection” is perfect.
I love the understated elegance of these pieces. This is the kind of jewelry you can wear everyday without feeling like they are too dressy. They all come in a choice of rose, yellow or white gold; the rose gold is a current fave! The prices for fine jewelry is also reasonable, with everything being under $1500.
I love the classic Elisa Pendant which is great for everyday, and can be layered with longer necklaces
The Elias cuff is GORGEOUS…
and the Lee Drop earrings make quite a statement
also launching this season are their new trays; this agate tray is beyond…
I am thinking one of these would make the perfect stocking stuffer!!!… Continue Reading
It is fun shopping for holiday outfits, but sometimes those outfits only get worn once. When you go too “sparkly” those pieces are just not as versatile.
For Christmas Eve I wanted an outfit I could wear again. I found this blouse by 1 State and this feminine Skirt by Milly at Hall’s. I love black and white; it’s always in style and it’s easy to accessorize. I kept it pretty simple with black opaque tights, black D’orsay suede pumps and for a touch of sparkle to dress the outfit up I added these earrings by Kendra Scott. The skirt was on sale, so the whole outfit was under $250! Hall’s is having a huge sale right now, it’s definitely a great time to shop and stock up on high quality pieces for Fall/Winter.
It’s Sunday and we are pretty much homebound for the day. Kansas City was hit with a few inches of snow and bitter cold temps. This is definitely the worst start to a winter we have had since I moved here 8 years ago! It has been a great excuse to hunker down, clean, do laundry and get organized before my family arrives next week.
We had a great weekend! Friday night we hosted our Health House team for a Christmas happy hour. We kept it very simple with light appetizers, and then we catered in Jack Stack. I forgot to take pics; too busy chatting and playing hostess. I did get one pre party. I wore this J.Crew buffalo check top, which is perfect for the holidays
We took the kids to the Nutcracker on Saturday night. I have been going to the Nutcracker since I was 4, and have seen it in many cities across the US.… Continue Reading
I don’t think I have loved a coat more. This fur from Alysa Rene Boutique has a gorgeous mix of neutral colors, the length is perfect and it is warm as can be.
I styled it a little more casual here, but you can totally dress this up for the holidays by throwing it over a cocktail dress or skirt and blouse combo.

Ladies, if your husband needs a hint for you this Christmas here is a round up of my personal faves. You can never go wrong with a new fragrance, or some fun earrings. Tech accessories, Sunnies and Fun tennis shoes are a fun, easy and inexpensive gift. And let’s just talk about the Chloe bag 🙂 this color is perfect!
Trying to dress for holiday parties when it is 20 degrees out is brutal. Finding that perfect mix of cozy/cute/sexy is next to impossible! That was until I found this dress at Scoobie. It is a sweater dress…shorter in front, longer in back and not super fitted which makes the short length a little easier to wear. It is also under $85, which is a steal for a sweater dress. You could cozy it up with tights and a bootie, or make it a little sexier with a bare leg like I did here. This would make for a great Christmas or even New Year’s Eve outfit!
Scoobie is having a buy one get one for one day only starting tomorrow at both their KC Garment and Trendz locations.… Continue Reading
