Easter dresses are my favorite. Not the real poofy frilly ones, but the kind that remind me of my favorite classic children’s books and fairytales.
When I saw this dress at The Little House, something about it reminded me of the little girl who played Cinderella in the 2015 movie.
It’s so feminine and pretty; with a delicate pattern of bunnies and flowers. The ruffle and grosgrain bow make perfect details. It’s not overly poofy, but definitely twirl worthy 🙂

Growing up in Minnesota; our winter “look” was defined by our coats, hats, gloves and scarves. Bundled up from head to toe, all you could see when we walked to school was our eyeballs! The northern girl in me loves all of the cold weather accessories. Even though it doesn’t get THAT cold in KC, a hat and gloves are still a necessity for recess and playing outside.
Vivi’s outfit: Hat by Appaman, Fleece by Joules (both from The Little House), Leggings: Target
The Little House in Fairway has a darling selection of styles for boys, girls and babies! Their handpicked items are unique and high quality; not what you will find at your typical chain store.

Outerwear for kids is tricky! You want to find something warm, comfortable and durable. I have tried everything from the super inexpensive Old Navy coats, to splurging on a Patagonia. And truthfully, the Patagonia coats are worth every single penny. The Little House has the CUTEST selection of Patagonia; and are one of the only retailer here in KC that actually carry the line.
The last few years I have gotten each of my kids the “Down Sweater” jacket. They are around $100-$125, but they are super lightweight and the warmest coat around. I love that they aren’t so bulky, especially when you are trying to strap your child in a car seat! If you size up a bit, you can get two seasons out of them too!
Their color selection this season is fantastic!!! Loving this aqua with Purple and Hot Pink trim

I don’t know a little girl that doesn’t LOVE a “twirly” dress. The more twirl factor the better! Unfortunately most of my daughters favorite dresses aren’t great for everyday; they are a special occasion dress that would not be practical for school or play.
Some childrenswear designers got very smart and have made fun, flouncy, twirling dresses that aren’t just for special events! They have combined a comfortable cotton top with a tulle skirt; the perfect combo of cute, comfort and wearability
We found the 3 cutest styles at The Little House in Fairway. This one by Toobydoo was our favorite! The tulle is super soft, and the top is a very comfortable striped knit. I love that she can wear this now while it is still warm, but we can layer with leggings and a denim jacket into fall.
This navy and grey version also by Toobydoo was just as adorable.… Continue Reading
Back to School time also means time to stock up on all the basics. New backpacks, new coats, and of course new shoes. While tennis shoes are great for everyday, they also get extremely dirty! We try to reserve the tennis shoes for school and play, and then each season we also try to get one tennis shoe alternative. Something that is still comfortable and cute, but also nice enough to wear out to dinner or church.
For the last few years we have been shopping for our shoes at The Little House in Fairway. I love that they carry unique brands that you can’t find everywhere else, and their shoe club is the best! Buy 5 pairs of shoes and you get 1 free! It’s really a no brainer. And, I always like to support a small, local businesses whenever I can!
Vivi of course went for sparkles; and for once, it is something that isn’t pink!… Continue Reading
